Nayara Sakyiama and Joyce Carlo at IBPSA Latam Conference

Latecae is pleased to announce that the partner profa. Nayara Sakyiama was awarded 1st place in the best article award at the VII LATIN AMERICAN CONGRESS ON BUILDING SIMULATION held on March 9 and 10, 2023, Florianópolis, SC - Brazil. The article entitled CFD-based wind pressure coefficients on building facades with Butterfly/Openfoam for airflow network models was co-authored by Prof. Joyce Carlo, coordinator of Latecae, who co-supervised her doctorate at the University of Stuttgart, under the guidance of prog. Halrald Garrecht, also co-author of the award-winning article.
Nayara is a professor at UFVJM and has partnerships with Latecae for the project "Use of simulation and computational tools in the study of naturally ventilated buildings" funded by Fapemig since 2022, and for the CFD simulation discipline at PPG.au, where she trained several Latecae researchers.
Latecae researcher Mário Alves presented the paper Impact of the use of different climate files on the classification of energy efficiency of the envelope of a building according to INI-R: the case of Viçosa-MG, which fostered a rich discussion on the decision of which article model to adopt in simulations and regulations.
